Project Yarnway: Manifold mittens

Amoena told me some time ago that Ravelry has started a design-competition in the spirit of Project Runway. I thought that the idea seemed great, and since we'd have deadlines, I might be able to finish something in a reasonable amount of time. So we decided to take part. Project Yarnway lasts for a year and has 11 design challenges, and here's my entry for the first one:

Project info
Name: Manifold mittens
Craft: Knitting
Made for: Amoena // Project Yarnway & Ravelympics

Needle size: US 4 / 3.5 mm
Yarn:
Novita Kotiväki
Colorway: Black
Schoeller+Stahl Grazie
Colorway: Turquoise

The mitten is knitted starting from fingers with Grazie, knitted down to cuff, turned, doubled the stitches and knitted back up with Kotiväki. And it worked like a charm! I had some doubts about it, but I only had some minor problems with the lace, and those were most likely because I was knitting tired. I'm very happy with the mittens and I hope you like them too. Remember to vote me ! And Amoena of course.

That lace layer is a really interesting idea, but the colors are a little psychedelic to my taste. :D

Elina: I didn't think that you might consider "blue" too psychedelic :D I thought you liked colors!

Hirmu hauskat noi lapaset.

Kiitos huivikehuista :) Noi miun pitsipyöröpuikot on Addin Circular Lace Needle:t.
